New Pokemon GO Rule Could Temporarily Ban Overzealous Players
Pokemon GO enthusiasts are facing a potential setback: a new gameplay tweak might land them in hot water for excessive playtime. Reports suggest that interacting with more than 160 Team GO Rocket Grunts could trigger a ban, a revelation that's caught many players off guard.
Recent weeks have been a mixed bag for Pokemon GO devotees. While the return of the Mega Rayquaza raid sparked excitement, it left some disappointed due to various glitches. Now, another change has stirred up frustration ahead of a highly anticipated event.
In a recent post on The Silph Road subreddit, user Faladyne conducted an eye-opening experiment ahead of the upcoming Pokemon GO Adventure Week: Taken Over event. Niantic's new rule aims to prevent players from exploiting Stardust gains by limiting interactions with Team GO Rocket Grunts. Previously unaware of the threshold, Faladyne tested it using a fresh account and discovered that surpassing 160 interactions with these Grunts could lead to a ban. Notably, this ban isn't permanent but imposes a temporary cooldown that renders the game virtually unplayable by blanketing the map with no Pokemon spawns.
While Rocket Balloons appear exempt from this limit, the timing of this restriction coincides worryingly with the Adventure Week event, which promises increased Grunt encounters. With players eager to engage in battles and hunt down coveted Pokemon, hitting the 160-interaction mark suddenly seems plausible. Some community members have already surpassed this number in past gameplay sessions, branding the new rule as excessive punishment for simply enjoying the game.
As trainers gear up for the Adventure Week: Taken Over, staying informed about these restrictions could be crucial to avoiding an unintended cooldown. Players are urged to exercise caution and strategize their gameplay to avoid any disruptive bans during this exciting event.
