Deadpool-Inspired Skin teased coming to Fortnite

Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers. Just last month, the popular battle royale game had incorporated Deadpool and Wolverine themed content, including skins, emotes, weapons, and accessories, to coincide with the release of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie in late July. The film has been a massive success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide over the weekend and earning a remarkable 95% approval rating from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes.

Perhaps it isn't surprising then that more Deadpool related content will be appearing in the game. On August 11, the official Fortnite Twitter account shared a brief video clip captured during the Disney Horizons Live presentation at the D23 fan event in Anaheim, California.

Fishpool?

While the tweet does not explicitly confirm the inclusion of this "Fishpool" skin in Fortnite, the video seems to tease a variant of the popular in-game character Fishstick, wearing a Deadpool bodysuit, with a person in a movie-accurate Deadpool costume reacting in shock below the projected image. And while the sketch of the skin appears intentionally crude in its design, it showcases a unique fusion of the Deadpool and Fishstick aesthetics, with the audio featuring Deadpool's voice saying, "No spoilers. I want to see it in the game. Is he awesome-looking?"

Expanding the Fortnite Superhero Crossover Roster

This wouldn’t be the first time such a mashup has happened either. Players will remember that Peely the Banana, another one of Fortnite's many quirky characters, was recently fused with Wolverine to create the Peelverine Plush Back Bling.

This unique item, which allows players to equip a Wolverine-styled banana plushie on their character's back, was created specifically for the D23 event, with players who tuned into the livestream or caught the replay being able to claim the Peelverine Plush Back Bling for free until August 16, after which it will be available for purchase in the game's shop.

The influx of superhero-themed content in Fortnite extends beyond just the potential Fishpool skin. Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, set to launch on August 16, will feature a Marvel-centric theme, with Dr. Doom serving as a central antagonist. This update will introduce new X-Men themed skins for characters such as Cyclops, Jubilee, and Colossus.
