Honkai: Star Rail Introduces Jiaoqiu - Here’s What You Need to Know

Honkai: Star Rail has unveiled detailed information about its upcoming character, Jiaoqiu, shedding light on his abilities and role within a team. Scheduled to debut during the second phase of version 2.4 on August 21, Jiaoqiu will be featured in a limited-time banner running until September 9. This gives players ample opportunity to use their Star Rail Passes to add him to their roster.

In a recent drip marketing campaign, it was confirmed that Jiaoqiu follows the Nihility path and wields the power of the Fire element. Like the other new character in version 2.4, Yunli, Jiaoqiu is a five-star rarity unit and serves as a support character. He is a foxian character, characterized by his pointed ears, and his appearance is marked by a red jacket, white shirt, and blue pants.

Honkai: Star Rail has also provided an in-depth look at Jiaoqiu’s skill set, detailing how his traces, basic attacks, technique, and ultimate function. When using his technique, Jiaoqiu creates a flaming zone that persists for a set duration, dealing Fire damage to all enemies within its range. His basic attacks focus on single-target Fire damage, while his skill targets all enemies on the battlefield. Both his skill and technique have a chance to inflict the Ashen Roast effect, a unique debuff.

Jiaoqiu is the latest addition to the Nihility users in Honkai: Star Rail, a group known for their ability to debuff enemies and diminish their offensive capabilities. Although the details aren’t entirely confirmed, it’s expected that Jiaoqiu will be available for recruitment between August 21 and September 9.

Alongside Jiaoqiu, version 2.4 will also introduce another five-star character, Sparkle, who follows the Harmony path and specializes in the Quantum element. Sparkle excels at boosting her allies’ damage and speeding up their actions. Her unique trace provides an additional ATK bonus to Quantum-type characters on her team.

Sparkle’s arrival will be accompanied by a lineup of rerun characters, including Hook, Guinaifen, and Arlan, who are expected to share the same banner from August 21 to September 9. Additionally, their signature Light Cones will also be available in the game during the second phase of version 2.4.
