Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 - ABSOLUTE DOOM Is Out, and It's a Big One!

Epic Games has officially released update 31.00 across all platforms, and it’s a big one! The update size is larger than usual, which makes sense given the wealth of new content being introduced. Epic Games shared the news on Twitter, stating: "You can now begin downloading the new Fortnite v31.00 update on all platforms. As previously mentioned, patch sizes are larger than usual with this release. Please keep install times in mind while preparing for the launch of Chapter 5 Season 4 - ABSOLUTE DOOM!"

Epic Games previewed the new season on Twitter, offering fans a glimpse of what to expect from Chapter 5, Season 4.

"Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 now ends on August 15th at 11 PM ET, and we’ll go into maintenance for v31.00 shortly after," reads a tweet from Epic.

"To push through to the finish line, all players will have their next three levels of XP Supercharged from August 13th at 9 AM ET until the end of the season!"

The upcoming season was also teased during a recent end-of-season event, which confirmed the return of the villainous Doctor Doom.

In addition to Doctor Doom, the new Fortnite Battle Pass will feature a variety of exciting skins, including Gwenpool, War Machine, and Peelverine—a Wolverine variant of Peely. Players can also look forward to unlocking skins for Emma Frost, Shuri, Mysterio, and a special Captain America version of Jonesy, dubbed Captain Jonesy.

As for the Battle Pass, while seasonal skins were once exclusive to it, Epic Games plans to bring these items to the shop for those who missed out, allowing more players to get their hands on these coveted cosmetics.

The Fantastic Four are also set to make an appearance in the item shop during Chapter 5, Season 4.

New points of interest (POIs) will be introduced, including Castle Doom, Doomstadt, and The Raft. The Train will make a comeback, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a Galactus landmark in the season trailer.

In terms of weaponry, players can expect a mix of new and returning favorites. Captain America's Shield, Peelyverine's Claws, Gwenpool's Blades, Shuri's Mythics, Iron Man's Gloves, and the Stark Industries Energy Rifle will all be making an appearance. Additionally, War Machine's Jetpack and Turret will be available. New weapons include Dual SMGs, an updated Sniper Rifle, a Single-Hand Pistol, the Silent Scar, and the Heavy AR.

Fortnite Battle Royale isn’t the only game mode getting a content boost in Chapter 5, Season 4. The rhythm-action spinoff Fortnite Festival will introduce Karol G to the game as part of the Season 5 Festival Pass.

"Players looking for Karol-themed items," said Epic Games, "including the Bichota Season Karol G Outfit, the Bichota Mic, the Bichota 6-String Guitar, and the 'QLONA' Jam Track – can purchase the Season 5 Festival Pass Premium Reward Track for 1,800 V-Bucks to start unlocking Karol G rewards with no additional quests required."

A special Karol G playable concert experience will also be added to Fortnite Festival, kicking off on Friday, August 23, at 8 PM BST. According to Epic Games, this playable concert will be a "five-part visual journey through Karol G’s life and music career."
