Developed by the renowned Japanese game developer Nihon Falcom, the Ys series is renowned for its mainline titles often taking considerable time to receive official English translations. However, unlike its predecessors, it appears that the newly remastered Ys: The Oath in Felghana will arrive in Western markets relatively soon after its release.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana, initially launched as an action RPG exclusively for Windows PCs in Japan on June 30, 2005, is actually a remake of the third installment in the Ys series, 1989's Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys. Despite its title not explicitly indicating this, the game is a reimagining of the classic Ys 3.
